I'm Melissa Mayberry, but most of my students affectionately know me as Miss Missy. As we finish Uintah Ballet Academy's third year, I find myself reflecting on the incredible growth and progress we've witnessed in the past three years. Each season has surpassed the last, and my passion for the studio and its dancers continues to flourish.
My journey in the world of ballet began at the age of three at the Jacqueline’s School of Ballet, under the expert guidance of Jacqueline Colledge, Brittnee Squires, and Heather Gray. The privilege of dancing in numerous productions at Jacqueline’s School of Ballet and Utah Metropolitan Ballet enriched my artistic journey.
After 14 years of dedicated technical training, I transitioned to my high school dance team. This pivotal experience not only expanded my dance repertoire but also fueled my ongoing technical education.
Now, as a proud mother of four beautiful daughters, the joy of being a mom intertwines seamlessly with my love for ballet. My dream is to establish a respectable ballet school in rural Uintah Basin. Starting small, my vision is rooted in building a nurturing environment for aspiring dancers, with aspirations to see the school blossom and thrive.
The past three years have been a testament to the dedication of our dancers and the unwavering support of our ballet community. I look forward to another year of artistic exploration, growth, and the shared joy that comes from the beauty of ballet.
